about

9159 was an interesting experiment suggested by Mitt, that we start a track at 91bpm and then systematically reduce its tempo in sectional steps of 8bpm until it reached the end at 59bpm.

The fact that 9, 1, 5, & 9 were the times of day that he had to take his meds was apparently purely coincidental, while his inspired harmonica performance captured in just two takes was allegedly boosted by the prescribed morphine he was taking for pain relief. It also ended up being Mitt's favourite track on the album!
